Buckley Center Gallery - University of Portland - March 16 - April 9, 2009

With this exhibit I explored the theme of formations through printmaking, painting and an interactive installation.

Everything is a formation of sorts with countless variations. Most interesting to me are those that document moments, processes of a natural occurrences or human activities ...Formations that are created inadvertently. An example of this can be seen on urban utility poles; huge sculptural rings formed from layers and layers of event posters, staples, nails and time. Like tree rings - they leave behind a layered record of events. Another example would be formations such as charts and graphs generated from data.
